Presentation

Neonate with swelling in the lower back region came for MRI evaluation.

Patient Data

Age: 2 days
mri

Sagittal T2W images of brain and spine showing small posterior fossa, concavity of clivus, cerebellar tonsillar herniation, hydrocephalus and thinning of corpus callosum. Axial T2W images of the lumbosacral spine showing defect in the posterior elements with myelomeningocele.

Case Discussion

 Imaging features are suggestive of a Chiari II malformation.
