L4/5: grade I anterolisthesis, uncovering and posterior bulge of the disc, ligamentum flavum hypertrophy and facet joint arthropathy all contribute to severe central canal stenosis and compression of the cauda equina, with complete effacement of the thecal sac.

Lumbar spinal stenosis is a very common indication of surgery, with most patients complaining of radiculopathic pain.
