3rd metatarsal fracture

A heavy object fell over the left foot some days ago. Persistent pain.

Age: 40
Gender: Male

Left foot X-ray

Modality: X-ray

There is an oblique fracture of the proximal diaphysis of the third metatarsal bone with minimal comminution and displacement. 

Case Discussion

Foot radiographs are commonly performed in emergency departments. This case illustrates a third metatarsal fracture.
