Presentation

Male prisoner who abuses drugs, smokes cigarettes with cough.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

Chest

x-ray

There is prominent bilateral interstitial markings with basilar predominance. The
cardiomediastinal silhouette is normal in size and morphology.

pathology

Desquamative Interstitial pneumonia and severe background emphysema.

Differential diagnosis.

Case Discussion

Pathology proven DIP and background of severe emphysema. We do not have access to outside CT. He should stop smoking.
