Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

Small lucencies in the roof of the acetabulums bilaterally represent accessory superior acetabular notches (anatomical variant). No fracture or malalignment is identified.

CT confirms the presence of bilateral accessory superior acetabular notches.

Case Discussion

Accessory superior acetabular notches are an anatomical variant, which should not be confused for a traumatic injury.
