Inverted papilloma of the frontal sinus

Presentation

Pain and swelling over the frontal region.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male

There is a large fairly well-defined homogeneous, intensely enhancing soft tissue mass lesion with lobulated margins with its epicenter in the right frontal sinus.

The lesion is seen to expand and erode frontal bone. It is crossing midline and partially filling the left frontal sinus.

It is causing erosion of orbital plate of frontal bone and is extending into extraconal space causing mild proptosis.

An extension is also seen into both anterior ethmoidal sinuses, right nasal cavity, and the right maxillary sinus.

This is a histopathologically proven case of an inverted papilloma of the frontal sinus.
