Partial tearing of the proximal fibers of the medial collateral ligament with edema deep and superficial to the ligament (grade 2 injury). A small focus of marrow edema is seen at the proximal attachment of the ligament. Low grade intra-substance signal within the anterior cruciate ligament may indicate low grade sprain. No other abnormality seen.
