What is the differential diagnosis for this lesion?
The differential is that of a primary parotid neoplasm (e.g. mucoepidermoid carcinoma, Warthin tumour, adenoid cystic carcinoma) or a necrotic node from a squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck.
Single CT slice at the level of the parotid glands demonstrates a single mass with central low density cystic component in the posterolateral aspect of the right parotid.
