Presentation
Right shoulder pain and limitation of movement
Patient Data
Complete tear of the supraspinatus tendon with muscle retraction and fatty degeneration due to lateral slopping of the acromial process and subacromial impingement.
Narrowed coraco-humeral distance with associated complete tear of subscapularis muscle and dislocated biceps tendon.
Partial tear of the infraspinatus muscle.
The coraco-humeral distance measures 6.5 mm which is narrow enough to cause subscapularis tendon tear and long head of biceps tendon dislocation (white arrow). Black arrow refers to fatty degeneration of supraspinatus muscle belly.
Case Discussion
The case demonstrates clearly the effect of subacromial and subcoracoid impingement syndromes with associated subscapularis and supraspinatus tendon complete tear.
