Developmental dysplasia of the hip - operative management and follow up

Presentation

Left sided hip pain and limp after walking. Late to walk.

Patient Data

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male

Dysplastic left hip with shallow acetabulum, small femoral head and dislocated hip.

Left femoral osteotomy. Healing at osteotomy site. Some improvement in acetabular morphology.

Enlarged femoral head and metaphysis (coxa magna). Further improvement in acetabular appearances. Femoral head is well covered.

Left femoral epiphysis remains larger than the right. Further improvement in appearances of the left acetabulum and good coverage.
