RADIOPHARMACEUTICAL: 99mTc ECD, 810 MBq QC 91%
Dynamic perfusion study, SPECT/CT studies were obtained. The study shows no perfusion to the cerebral hemisphere or brain stem. There is perfusion noted to the scalp.
IMPRESSION: The Tc 99m ECD cerebral perfusion study is consistent with brain death.
Case Discussion
This case demonstrates no tracer (99mTc-ethyl cysteinate dimer (99mTc-ECD)) uptake in both cerebral hemispheres and the posterior fossa confirming the previously clinical suspicion of brain death.
