Presentation

Follow up imaging of stroke.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years

Left basal ganglia acute and subacute non-hemorrhagic infarct. An associated asymmetric hypo-attenuation can be depicted within the right cerebellar hemisphere suggesting crossed cerebellar diaschisis.

Case Discussion

The CT findings are suggestive of right crossed cerebellar diaschisis but perfusion imaging is often necessary to make the diagnosis.
