Presence of more than 12 follicles within the right and left ovaries with the string of pearls appearance.
Case Discussion
Bilateral enlarged ovaries, multiple small follicles and increased stromal echogenicity are the characteristics of polycystic ovaries on ultrasound examiantion. Presence of more than 10-12 follicles in the periphery gives the string of pearls or pearl necklace appearance.
