Motor vehicle accident about 6 hours ago. CT to rule out mediastinal injury.
Patient Data
Thoracic aorta has normal caliber and opacification, with no evidence of acute abnormalities. Aortic arch branches are unremarkable, with a note made to the left vertebral artery originating from the aortic arch (anatomical variant). No lymph node enlargement or other mediastinal abnormality. Lungs and pleural spaces are clear. Airways are normal. No pneumothorax. No evidence of fractures involving the thoracic cage. The sternum has a normal appearance. Alignment of the thoracic spine is intact. No fracture detected in the thoracic spine. Imaged upper abdomen is unremarkable for this clinical scenario and imaging protocol.
