Presentation
Vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal pain and significant deterioration of general condition.
Patient Data
No signs of gastro-intestinal tract obstruction or perforation.
Spherical calcification in the right middle abdomen.
Significant retention of the contents in the stomach.
The gallbladder and adjacent dudoenum are thick-walled with surrounding fat stranding.
Several gallstones are noted within the gallbladder.
A spherical calcification is seen in the lumen of the descending duodenum.
Case Discussion
This is a typical case of gallstone ileus with Rigler triad, although the level of obstruction is very proximal.
