Trauma patient at the wrist during soccer match.

Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Transverse fracture through the growth plate or "physis" of the distal radius, with dorsal offset and dorsal angulation of the displaced epiphysis. 

Case Discussion

The sliding statistically fracture occurs in about 5-7 % of cases of physeal fractures. It is characterized by involvement through the growth plate, with no obvious bone involvement. Usually, it has a good prognosis.
