Presentation
Incidental finding during chest CT.
Patient Data
A linear posterior dural and epidural ossific lesion spanning T10 and T11 vertebral bodies. It measures 6.0 x 0.3 cm in its CC and AP dimensions respectively.
A linear lesion is present in the spinal canal posteriorly, at the T10-T11 levels. It is inseparable from the posterior dura which appears mildly thickened, anterior to the posterior epidural fat, and mildly encroaches on the posterior dural sac. It appears low signal on T1 and T2, and has no significant enhancement.
Case Discussion
Incidentally noted posterior dural ossification at lower thoracic spine levels, with mild encroachment on the posterior dural sac.
Differential diagnosis includes:
prior spinal epidural or subdural hematoma
Spinal tumors that may calcify
We are waiting for histopathological confirmation, to determine the etiology.
