Presentation

Male patent with hepatitis C virus. Routine ultrasound exam described a focal lesion in the right hepatic lobe.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male
ct

Right lobe segment VII/VIII hepatic focal lesion with homogenous wash in of contarst on arterial phase. Delayed and venous phases show wash out of contrast.

Enlarged spleen.

Average caliber portal vein with patent lumen, no signs of thrombosis.

No abdominal ascites.

Case Discussion

55 year old male with hepatitis C infection. Routine US described a focal lesion in the right hepatic lobe. Triphasic study of the liver shows that the lesion has enhancement characteristics compatible with hepatocellular carcinoma (hepatoma)
