Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Male

Avulsed posterior tibial plateau at the PCL insertion. Mild volume lipohemarthrosis. Fractured inferior margin of the patella. Small intra-articular loose body is seen at the knee joint space.

 

Case Discussion

Posterior cruciate ligament avulsion fracture associated with intra articular loose body. Fractured inferior margin of the patella. Absence of corticated margin excludes bipartite patella. Mild amount of lipohaemoarthrosis within the suprapatellar recess.
