Left temporal subcortical T1 hypointense, T2 hyperintense lesion with restricted diffusion and focal areas of GRE blooming as well as associated parenchymal edema with dilated cortical veins are noted suggesting venous hypertension and peripheral/cortical venous hemorrhage. The left sigmoid and transverse sinuses show loss of their signal void with hyperintense T1 and hypointense T2 signal consistent with subacute dural sinus thrombosis. Empty delta sign was evident on the contrast-enhanced series with patchy cortical enhancement. MR venography confirmed left sigmoid and transverse dural sinus thrombosis with loss of their signal.
