Acromioclavicular joint injury - grade II

Presentation

Fall off motorcycle. Right shoulder injury.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

Widened acromioclavicular joint with elevation of the clavicle compared to the acromion, but not above the superior acromial border. Increased coracoclavicular distance. Local edema, soft tissue swelling.

 

Case Discussion

These features are consistent with a grade II acromioclavicular joint injury according to the Rockwood classification.
