Malignant pleural effusion due to metastatic breast cancer

Large right pleural effusion. Large hiatus hernia containing a gastric air-fluid level. Right axillary clips suggest previous nodal clearance. Both breast shadows are present. Numerous mixed sclerotic and lytic bone lesions throughout the ribs and scapulae in keeping with mets. Pathologic fracture of the right posterior 4th rib.
Case Discussion
The patient had a known diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer. The pleural effusion was progressing compared to recent CXRs.
