This is a case of intestinal nonrotation, which is a congenital anomaly of the intestines wherein the small intestine is located in the right side of the abdomen and the colon and cecum on the left side. Intestinal nonrotation is often an incidental finding in adults during routine examination and is considered a form of intestinal malrotation.
