Injury to thumb 2 weeks back.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

XR no copyright not uploaded Avulsion # of ulnar colLat ligament of thumb.

There is an avulsion fracture from proximal phalanx base at site of ulnar collateral ligament attachment. Ligament is odematous - hypoechoic. However, ligament and bony flake are deep to appneuosis. There is no pseudomass formation abutting metacarpal head.

Case Discussion

Case of post traumatic avulsion of proximal phalanx base involving thumb diagnosed by radiograph ( no copy right, not uploaded ).  Referred for USG to rule out Stener lesion which requires surgical treatment.

There is avulsion of ligament; but no Stener lesion.
