Left flank pain. Renal stone?

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Multiple laminated gallstones in the right upper quadrant.

No other abnormality.

Case Discussion

Only a small percentage of gallstones (compared to renal stones) are visible on plain film.

This incidental findings shows a collection of laminated gallstones, the configuration of them together very much like the morphology of the gallbladder.
