Case contributed by Yaïr Glick
Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Right facial nerve (CN VII) paralysis

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

Osseous expansion of right sphenoid and maxillary and zygomatic bones, with ground glass matrix and cortical thinning. The right maxillary and sphenoid sinuses are obliterated, with narrowing of the right ethmoidal sinus and right nasal passages. The inferomedial aspect of the right orbit is lifted, accompanied by mild proptosis.

Case Discussion

One presentation of craniofacial FD is cranial nerve palsy. The abducens nerve is most commonly involved, due to its long course. In this case, there was facial nerve impingement. Unfortunately, there was no dedicated high resolution CT scan or MRI available for demonstrating the facial nerve.
