A well defined ovoid shaped cystic lesion is seen at the right submandibular region extending upwards to floor of the mouth just deep and below to right mandibular ramus laterally and genuhyoid , genuglossus muscles medially and posteriorly to right submandibular gland region. The lesion measures 40 x 23 x 38 mm in its AP x TR x CC diameters with no post contrast enhancement.

The CT findings are suggestive of a plunging ranula. The extension to the typical submandibular space favors the diagnosis of plunging ranula. In absence of the oral component, the other differential would be a cystic hygroma
