Sylvian fissure lipoma

Within the left Sylvian fissure is a lentiform shaped mass with fat signal on all sequences.
No subarachnoid droplets or adjacent parenchymal abnormality.
Case Discussion
Intracranial lipomas are rare congenital malformations. They are usually pericallosal asymptomatic midline lesions. The imaging characteristics of lipomas and dermoids are similar. Tumor location, signal homogeneity of the lesion, following fat density on all sequences in magnetic resonance images can help one to distinguish lipomas from dermoids.
