Presentation
The second episode of the paraumbilical pain and nausea in the past few days. History of laparoscopic cholecystectomy two months ago. The patient is obese.
Patient Data
There is a defect in the anterior abdominal wall consistent with a postoperative hernia, with a heterogeneous content (soft tissue and liquid with visible peristalsis).
Hernial sac is irregularly oval in shape with transversal diameter around 4 cm, and hernia neck is around 12 mm wide.
Case Discussion
Images present different positions on the anterior abdominal wall while sliding down the linea alba with a probe in transversal position.
The hernial sac is of heterogeneous content, with visible peristalsis and most probably consists of small intestine and mesentery.
With the history of recent laparoscopic surgery, this certainly represents postoperative incisional hernia.
