Double-lumen nasogastric-jejunal tube

Discussion:

Patients with pathologies requiring proximal GI rest such as acute pancreatitis and proximal bowel surgery may benefit from placement of a double-lumen feeding tubes. The first lumen ends in the stomach with several side ports and provides decompression of the gastric contents. The second lumen extends to the distal duodenum or proximal jejunum to provide enteral nutrition beyond the duodenum/ CBD so rest is given to the pancreas.
