Known metastatic prostate carcinoma. Extent of disease.

Patient Data

Age: 75
Gender: Male
Nuclear medicine

Extensive diffuse foci of radio-isotope uptake throughout the visualized skeleton, including the long bones, thoracic cage, pelvis and sternum.

Radio-isotope excretion is visualized in the kidneys.

Case Discussion

Typical appearances of diffuse bone metastases in a prostate carcinoma patient. In men, prostate cancer is the most common cause of these appearances. In females, it is usually from a breast cancer primary.
