Presentation

Acute left iliac fossa pain for five days.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
ct

A fat-density ovoid structure adjacent to colon in the left iliac fossa with surrounding inflammatory changes. No evidence of proximal colonic dilatation.

No free air in the peritoneal cavity to suggest bowel perforation.

Case Discussion

Epiploic appendagitis is a rare self-limiting inflammatory/ischemic process involving an appendix epiploica of the colon.
