Are patients with cystic fibrosis at an increased risk for malignancies?
Yes, they are. Both transplanted and non-transplanted CF patients are at increased risk of some malignancies, such as: gastrointestinal malignancy, in particular oesophageal, gastric, small bowel and colorectal cancer; gallbladder and extrahepatic biliary tree; lymphoma/leukaemia; and testicular cancer.
Central and upper zones cylindrical to varicose bronchiectasis associated with a few centrilobular nodular opacities and areas of lung collapse. The background lungs show mild mosaic attenuation pattern. Also, imaged superior abdomen contemplates the pancreas with fatty replacement.
