Central end plate depressions seen in thoracic and lumbar spine giving the resemblance of an H shaped vertebra. 

Case Discussion

Central end plate depressions in young adults tend to occur due to microvascular infarctions and is typically associated with sickle cell anemia. The appearance of the vertebra gives it the name H shaped vertebra.
