Presentation

Leg weakness.

Patient Data

Age: 8 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Lumbar spine films demonstrate sclerotic metastases T10, T11, L2, L4 and L5. A large left upper quadrant mass with calcification is also present.

In addition to the vertebral metastases seen on plain film, intraspinal extension with cord compression and edema are visible. A very large suprarenal mass with necrosis is also present.

CT confirms these findings, additionally demonstrating large secondary masses encasing the renal vessels on the left and surrounding the aorta. The largest mass, located above the kidney demonstrates calcification.
