Patient Data

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

It was noted by the radiographer that the patient refused to remove their clothing. Over the superior aspect of the image, the radiopaque letters 'STAR WARS' are visualized. Over the left inferior aspect of the image, a radiopaque stencil of a 'stormtrooper' is evident with the aforementioned identity below it in letters 'STORM TROOPER'.

Besides artifacts from clothing, there are no radiopaque foreign bodies visible on this image.

Case Discussion

Removing clothing that corresponds to the area of interest is important, digital image receptors are able to pick up even the stencils on t-shirts due to a higher detective quantum efficiency compared to that of film. This patient was very adamant about not removing his T-shirt.
