Patient with progressive headache and left visual field deficit for last 24 hours

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male

Right occipital subcortical ill-defined area of bright signal intensity on FLAIR images and evidence of diffusion restriction. Elsewhere there is chronic microvascular ischemic disease.

Case Discussion

Diffusion restriction in the right posterior cerebral artery territory represents an acute infarct and correlates with the patient's presentation of left visual field loss.
