Increased head circumference

Small well-defined nodule of the wall of the left occipital horn, bulging into the ventricular lumen. It shows the same signal intensity as the grey matter on all MR sequences.
Mild dilatation of the ventricular system.
Case Discussion
Case of unilateral focal subependymal grey matter heterotopia
In this case, mainly two differential diagnoses should be discussed:
-Caudate nucleus: which is more anterior and separated from the subependymal nodule, well-visualized on axial sequences.
-Subependymal tuber of tuberous sclerosis (TS): usually calcified and has a higher signal intensity on T2 sequence than normal grey matter, in addition, the clinical and radiological features of TS should exclude this differential diagnosis.
