What are the prenatal ultrasound findings in cases of meconium ileus?
Dilated and thick walled echogenic bowel, polyhydramnios, fetal ascites, peritoneal wall calcifications and intra-abdominal cysts.
Scout shows dilated bowel loops.
Water-soluble contrast was given through foleys catheter placed in the rectum which outlines the whole length of the large colon which is diffusely small in calibre representing microcolon. Reflux of contrast into the distal ileum is also noted. Multiple filling defects are seen throughout the colon and in distal ileum representing meconium.
