There are multiple low-attenuating mass like lesions with loculated fluid throughout the peritoneum, omentum and mesentery, accompanied by scalloping of visceral surfaces, particularly the liver. No calcification is present.
Case Discussion
Features on CT scan and the extensive scalloping of the liver suggest rupture of a mucinous neoplasm resulting is pseudomyxoma peritonei. The patient underwent omental biopsy and the final pathology diagnosis was low-grade mucinous neoplastic gastrointestinal type epithelium.
