Periosteal thickening and elevation involving the distal third of the second metatarsal of the right foot, with a transverse fracture line.
Case Discussion
These are classic appearances of a stress fracture of the second metatarsal, sometimes known as a "march fracture" or a fatigue fracture, and is caused by abnormal stresses on normal bone.
