Presentation

Pain of the left hip since 2 years.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Radiograph shows soft tissue calcification around left hip joint.

The left hip joint shows osteoarthritic changes, seen as marginal osteophytes and subchondral sclerosis. Multiple intrasynovial osseous loose bodies are noted.

Multiple intrasynovial osseous bodies are noted at the left hip joint associated with degenerative osteoarthritic changes.

Case Discussion

Synovial osteochondromatosis is the conversion of synovial connective tissue to cartilage. It is synovial metaplasia to form cartilage.
