Presentation

Pre TACE hepatic angiogram.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male
dsa

Variant artery arising from the right hepatic artery coursing inferiorly and medially outside the liver and into the anterior abdominal wall in keeping with a falciform artery.

Tumor blush evident in segment II/III and to a lesser extent in the periphery of segment VIII.

Case Discussion

Awareness of this variant artery is vital when performing chemoembolisation of hepatic tumors, as inadvertent embolization of the falciform artery can cause abdominal wall necrosis.
