Presentation
Fall from bed. No evidence of head trauma at physical examination.
Patient Data
At posterior fossa, there is a left-sided extra-axial biconvex hyperdense collection (60HU) associated with occipital fracture (seen in bone window) suggestive of extradural hemorrhage.
Mass effect with compression of left cerebellar hemisphere.
A left parasagittal occipital vertical skull fracture reaching foramen magnum.
Post-surgery changes in the occipital bone.
No residual extra-dural collection.
Case Discussion
An uncommon site of traumatic extradural hemorrhage (at the posterior fossa).
Patient was immediately taken to surgery room in order to decompress.
