Patient presented after a knife wound to the abdomen.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

Case Discussion

Surgeons found, among other injuries, a hepatic laceration that could not be primarily sutured. They then passed a Sengstaken-Blakemore tube through the laceration and inflated the balloon, successfully stopping the bleeding.
