Presentation
Post traumatic left shoulder pain
Patient Data
Long head biceps tendon is exhibiting medial dislocation out of the bicipital groove. It shows no high grade tear. In external rotation, the subscapularis tendon is seen intact and also the biceps dislocation is more evident in this position. A sizable full-thickness tear is present in the supraspinatus tendon.
Case Discussion
Dislocation of the long head of biceps tendon is one of the complications of shoulder injury. On ultrasound, non visualization of long head of biceps tendon in bicipital groove should raise the suspicion of either full thickness tear or medial dislocation of the tendon.
