MRI depicting a linear metallic artifact within the plantar muscles (abductor hallucis muscle and tendon and flexor digitorum brevis).
There was a negative personal history of penetrating trauma and given the MR imaging findings, foot x-ray in lateral and frontal projections was performed.

Foot x-ray shows a 40 mm angulated linear metallic foreign body projecting onto the soft tissue at the medial side and plantar surface of the foot.
Case Discussion
The metallic foreign body was surgically removed.
