A horizontal tear is present at the lateral meniscus associated with a large parameniscal cyst near its anterior horn.
Horizontal tear also is seen at the body and posterior horn of the medial meniscus.
Mild joint effusion is seen.
Cruciate ligaments are intact.
Case Discussion
The case shows the typical appearance of the most common meniscal tear pattern, the horizontal tear with abnormal signal band lies parallel to the tibial plateau and separates the meniscus into upper and lower parts which obviously is seen at the lateral meniscus.
