With mouth opening, the articular disc remains anteriorly displaced without reduction.
The anterior translation of the mandibular condyle is normal.
There is minimal joint effusion.
The left temporomandibular joint:
With the mouth closed, the articular disc is displaced anteriorly and has an abnormal configuration.
With mouth opening, the articular disc attains its normal position between the mandibular condyle and the articular eminence.
The anterior translation of the mandibular condyle is normal.
There is minimal joint effusion.
