Ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament is noted from the level of C2 to the T1 vertebral level causing significant narrowing of the cervical canal resulting in obliteration of the anterior and posterior CSF columns at these levels. The cervical cord, however, grossly shows homogeneous signals.
